In additional, the pool staff “reserves” the nicest spots and pool beds for no reason, and we noticed that some of the best spots remained empty all day because the pool staff. It also appeared that there were a lot of locals at the pool (taking spots away from paying hotel guests) although it was not clear how they gained access to the facility.
Spots at the pool were also hard to come by if you did not get to the pool early you couldn’t get a chair. While it does cover entrance and use of the spa facility, the other items “included “ in the fee like turn down service, a newspaper and free shoe shine are ridiculous as any decent hotel should include these services in the price of the room.
On the negative side, there is a mandatory $19.99 per room per day resort fee. The resort is also about 5 minutes from Red Rock Canyon which has great hiking. Because the hotel is off the strip (20 minutes to the strip) a car is necessary, but things like food and alcohol are noticeably less expensive. On the plus side, the rooms are fantastic (the best I have experienced in Vegas), the spa faculty is great and the pools are amazing. While we think the resort is great, there were some issues which the hotel should address. We recently spent 3 nights at the Red Rock resort.
